Kia ora e te whānau,
Ngahere Hub came together for their weekly assembly rounding off a very busy week!
Our wonderful co presenters for this assembly were kear and Jesse from Ruma tekau mā rima.
Mrs Poole dropped in to present the Tumuaki awards and Kear and Jesse did the honours with the Student awards.
Hayden came by to talk to children about Arohanui Strings, a Sistema-inspired early intervention music education programme, aimed at transforming children’s lives through music. They are a registered charitable trust, running groups in Taita, Stokes Valley, Wainuiomata, Mt Cook, Miramar and Newtown.
Arohanui Strings’ mission is to teach children music on string instruments, such as the violin and cello, free of charge!
They also plan to start teaching on woodwind instruments in the new year.
Hayden, along with Nadine, Sanvii, and Katelyn (who all take regular lessons in the Hub) played a couple of numbers from the girl’s repertoire.
Eliyah and Braxton were the lucky ākonga drawn out of the Ngahere token box and Rum rua were declared the best class by Mrs Finlayson.
