Kia ora koutou and welcome back for Term 2!
This is being reposted without the Zoom link or details.
I hope everyone has had a chance to relax a bit and have some family time these (very unusual) school holidays! Clearly this term is going to start a little differently than we thought, but I’m sure we can make it work. From my perspective, I’m hoping everyone will support each other, give things a go and just do their best.
I thought it might be a good idea to share how I see things going for the next few weeks. As we are in uncharted territory here I’m sure there will be a few teething issues to start with but please be assured that I’m keen to make this work for everyone and am happy to make adjustments to suit different circumstances and requirements.
At the start of each week I will post a weekly learning plan to Google Classroom. Google Classroom will be the main source of instructions and information for school work throughout this remote learning period. The weekly doc will contain activities I would like Room 1 students to do across a number of subject areas. There are some daily tasks and some other tasks that the kids can choose from. The work can be completed on the doc (for the week) or in the book that they brought home. Your child may wish to do a combination of the two but if they are completing work in a book or making something, it would be great if this could be photographed and either uploaded into the doc or emailed to me (at email@example.com).
I’ll be checking in with everyone in Room 1 to see how you’re going and to help you in any way you might need. I’ve now spoken to most families about the best contact methods (email, phone etc.) but I would also like to set up some Zoom meetings each week as this will hopefully be a good way for us all to get together as a class and for me to be able to answer any questions that might arise.
For future Zoom meetings I will share the invitation links in Google Classroom and on Educa.
I’m looking forward to catching up with you all very soon! Take care in your bubbles!
