Kia ora e te whānau
What an absolutely wonderful time was had by all at the Year 6 leavers’ dinner & prize giving yesterday evening. Our tamariki all looked fantastic and so grown up too! Some arrived in fancy cars and one even came up on a Harley Davidson!
Tu Rangatira Kora & Van were the M.C’s for this event and did such a wonderful mahi as they coordinated the very busy and exciting evening!
After Aysha said the karakia, ākonga & Kaiako tucked into a delicious catered meal that appealed to a variety of tastes washed down with sprite served to them by our Kaiako in posh wine glasses!
Once our Tawhai whanau arrived at about 7.30pm, it was down to the business end of the evening. Both Tumuaki Mrs Poole and School Board Chair Jaydy Marsh gave speeches, then the much-anticipated award ceremony began!
Ka pai to all students who received trophies and certificates. Warm congratulations to everyone for graduating as the CLASS of 2023 and all receiving beautiful pounaumu.
A BIG thank you to Cleo Syph (with assistance from Sharon Boese, Dave Whiteman, and the leavers committee) for organising the prize giving, and to the senior teachers for your hard work during the evening & tackling the clear up afterwards.
A HUGE thank you to the RSA and all you do for us to ensure that the evening is such a success!
Many thanks also to the PTSG, not only for the trophies but also for the Year 6 leavers’ beautiful gifts, something that they will treasure as they leave Tawhai and start the next episode of their school journey.
Below is the POWERPOINT of each and every Year 6 ākonga put together ( with much love and esteem) over several months by the resident kaiwhakaahua!
There are also 3 albums: the tamariki arriving at the RSA, enjoying their food, some games and a bit of dancing, and of course the prize giving!
