Kia ora e te whānau,
We were very fortunate in having a dry but overcast day for the annual Year 4-6 Athletics and that the tamariki didn’t get too overheated whilst competing during the morning. There were 6 rotations comprising of: sprints, long jump, high jump, quiots, vortex, and the added fun of gumboot throwing!
A huge thank you to Mr McGarry for organising the event! A big thank you too to the Kaiako who took charge of the rotations assisted by tamariki and some of our lovely whānau.
Thank you to all the whānau who were abled to attend the event.
Lastly where would be we be without our wonderful caretaker, Lloyd and the hard mahi he has put in getting the grounds prepared for the athletics. Lloyd decided he needed to try out the sprints before the events started and was heard bragging afterwards that he had come first in the over 65’s!
