Kiā ora e te whānau
You couldn’t get a better afternoon for our Tawhai Whānau picnic than today, being able to sit in the glorious afternoon sunshine with some great shade from our beautiful trees, enjoying the fellowship of others, and eating kai together. Our georgous tamariki had a range of activities to choose from, ranging from drawing, using playground chalks, playing with the bubble making machine, to playing a spot of cricket and football on the field with our more energetic kaiako!
Once everyone had eaten it was time to visit the Expo Curriculum stands that the Kaiako had set up under the whareruruhau and what they have been planning for the year.
The Curriculum Expo offered our parents the opportunity to be able to have a good overview of the Tawhai Kura Hauora Framework. How we engage our ākonga, in the learning areas of literacy, the Arts, Maths, Digital Technology, Inquiry, and PE & Health, how we engage in meaningful partnerships, what our cultural sustaining journey practices looked like, and lastly how we support our tamariki to regulate and reflect. Poipoia te kākano kia puāwai (nurture the seed and it will blossom)
The maths stand had the added attraction of guessing how many jellybeans are in the jar competition!
The tamariki also had such a great time at the Digital Technology & the PB4L stands.
Thank you to everyone who could come along this afternoon!
