Tuesday 24 March update

March 24 2020

Kiā ora e te whānau

Just a little update as we work to clarify a few details………..

School holidays brought forward: School holidays are being brought forward so that they are completed within the 4 week Level 4 period. Holidays will now begin from Monday 30 March to Tuesday 14 April inclusive (a reminder that the Tuesday after Easter Monday is always a closed day for schools).

At the end of the school holidays, Wednesday 15 April, Tawhai School will re-open for ‘Learning from Home’. Tawhai School will not physically open for staff to work at the schools. Teachers will be working offsite, delivering learning from home.

Learning from Home: With yesterdays announcement by the Government, we are implementing with a level of urgency our plan to support your child’s learning from home. Many teachers are on site today structuring a programme to support learning. I would appreciate your patience whilst our teachers navigate this space, and set processes and systems up to digitally connect with your children for their learning. You should expect some communication from your child’s teacher by the end of this week checking in with your digital availability and preferences.

At the beginning of Term 2, Wednesday 15 April, teachers will share a comprehensive plan for the learning from home.

Please take care our special Tawhai School whānau.
