The Last Assembly of Term 3

September 27 2017

This afternoon Nga Manu gathered in the hall for the last assembly of Term 3. Chante and Coco were our assembly presenters and did a wonderful job co-ordinating an action packed assembly as well as delivering near word perfect mihis. There were lots of awards and certificates, including the Principals awards, class certificates, sports certificates for our senior girls netball team and our two miniball teams who all did very well. Miss Page handed out the English ICAS certificates. Congratulations to everyone who took part with a special mention to Sam Barnes and Thida McPhail who both gained a distinction. Casey, Olive, Erin and Jemma, through a power point, told us about their amazing Volunteer project and what they have been doing to help the community. They organised, through posters and social media, a drive for donations of things such as clothes, toys and food, then redirected these items to agencies such as food bank, Koraunui marae etc, who will in turn be giving the donated items to those in great need of them. Well done Room 1! You have certainly made a difference to the community and we know that you want to carry on making a difference. We had lots of sharing from across the syndicate. Great artwork from team Piwakwaka, very funny limericks about teachers from Room 3, wonderful poems from Brianna and Justin ( Wes read Justin’s as he was absent from assembly) entitled, ‘If I were in charge of the world’. Room 1 were awarded the class of the assembly. Lastly, we had the Gold Card draw. Joel and Flynn were the recipients of the normal assembly draw. There was an extra special draw for the term for 2 students to receive an awesome goodie bag. The lucky students on this occasion were Luke and Kamlesh.
