This is the final information for the Production taking place this week. Please read carefully and if you have any further questions, contact your child’s teacher.
Timetable for the week
Tuesday 25th September – Full Dress Rehearsal at the Hutt City Church. All students will be travelling by bus during the day to practise at the venue. The cast will be there until 4pm and should have returned the separate notice with this information to Janette Page in Room 14.
All students should have returned a permission notice to their classroom teachers. If you have not received this or have not returned it, please see your child’s teacher.
Wednesday 26th September – Matinee 11.30-1pm. Students will travel to and from the venue by bus.
Wednesday 26th September and Thursday 27th September – The evening performances begin at 7pm. The cast, dance troupe and kapa haka performance group need to be at the hall at 6pm. All other students need to arrive at 6.30pm. The hall will not be open until 6.30pm for audience members. All tickets must be presented at the door and there will be a master list of tickets sales for each evening. Please make sure you bring the correct coloured tickets to each show!
We ask that the students wear makeup for the performances, as this helps to outline their features more when they are on stage under bright lights and it also helps them to stand out more on the video. Please note that it is not compulsory for the students to wear makeup. However, if they are wearing makeup they should arrive at the venue with it already applied. Below is what we recommend that they wear.
Foundation (powder or liquid)
Blusher (on cheek bones)
Lipstick (preferably red) – boys don’t need to wear lipstick
Eye shadow (brown shades only)
Students will come to the evening performances dressed in the clothes they will be performing in for their dance. Teachers will hand out any extra accessories (hats, head bands, props etc) when they arrive at the venue. All students are performing in bare feet, so it would be helpful if students’ shoes could be removed before they are seated to perform.
The cast, dance troupe and kapa haka group will be the only students to get changed at the venue.
Evening Performances – Collecting your children
At the conclusion of each evening performance, students will remain seated in front of the stage area. Class teachers will have class lists and students must be checked off before leaving the hall. The cast, dance troupe and kapa haka group will get changed and will also return to the stage area to be collected.
Food at the venue for Tuesday rehearsals and Wednesday Matinee
We ask that for these two days, students bring water only in their drink bottles and that they don’t have foods such as yoghurts, jellies or any other similar messy foods. It would be helpful if students could bring their food in a small container or plastic bag, that can be easily transported in boxes or crates, as students won’t be taking bags to the venue.
As the evening performances are quite late for some students, we are happy for them to have a sleep in on Thursday and Friday mornings, as long as students are at school by morning tea (10.30am). If students are going to be late, it would be appreciated if someone could contact the office that morning.
Please note that Rm 11 has photos Thursday morning and Rm 8 has photos Friday morning.
