Kia ora e te whānau,
On Sunday 52 of our gorgeous tamariki did themselves, their whānau, and the kura proud with a very stirring performance 3 waiata and the haka at the multicultural Festival which took place in the hall of the Whirinaki Whare Taonga. They kicked off a colourful mixt of vibrant music and colourful performances from around the world so they could sit back and enjoy the rest of the programme.
The Lion Dance from China was such fun to watch especially seeing their hilarious interactions with Upper Hutt Mayor, Wayn Guppy, Leader of the Opposition, Chris Hipkin, and Multicultural committee member, organiser, & Tawhai Parent, Yuko Kondo.
Thank you to our Tawha whānau for bringing your tamariki and supporting them during their performance!
Thank you to Mr Whiteman for organising this and to Miss Page for supporting him.
Here are some photos taken during their performance with kind permission from whānau. Unfortunately, the kaiwhakaahua found it a bit tricky to try and capture all the tamariki on camera as there were so many, the lighting wasn’t the best in the hall, and she couldn’t roam around freely for fear of getting in the way of the videos taken, so apologies for the poor quality of the photos!
