Next week each student will be competing in a touch rugby mini World Cup. Over the past few weeks, many of our tamariki have been practicing their rugby skills and working in teams to prepare.
Your children have been assigned countries to represent and colours to wear on the day.
The dates/times for each tournament are as follows.
Tuesday 17th September
Year 0/1’s – 9.15am to 10.30am
Year 2’s – 11.15am to 1.pm
Wednesday 18th September
Year 3/4’s – 11.15am to 1pm
Thursday 19th September
Year 5/6’s – 11.15am to 1pm
Whanau are more than welcome to attend. Supporting the children is encouraged. This will be the first time many of the children have played touch rugby so the rules have been relaxed. Working well with one another, getting involved and having fun is what the day is all about!
Trophies will be awarded to winning the winning teams. Prizes will be awarded to referee and teachers picks (based on school values..not just ability) and each child who takes part will receive a certificate.
If you have any questions about the tournament feel free to swing by Room 1 and chat to me.
Below are some photos of the great work that Mr McGarry’s students have been doing teaching the younger students!
