Tawhai School

Stokes Valley Christmas Parade

December 8 2018

After a couple of weeks of very changeable weather, you couldn’t pick a better day than today for the annual Stokes Valley Christmas Parade! The theme for the Tawhai School float had to be the ‘True Value’ Production. Several members of staff, our Board Chairperson, Angela Whitmarsh and Tawhai parent, Dan Newman spent a few hours preparing the float and it looked wonderful by the time they finished dressing it! The children on the float had a thoroughly enjoyable time waving at the crowds who gathered to see the parade along the main road all the way down to the shops. The other floats looked wonderful too and I took photos of some of them as well to add to the album. A BIG THANK YOU to Dan Newman and Mainstream for providing us with the truck, to our chief organiser, Ashlee Long and to all our volunteers. As usual The Rotary Club of Hutt River Valley did a wonderful job organising the event.
