Northern/Central Zone Swimming

[loop-news.php]

August 25 2019

This year’s event took place at Huia Pool due to the closing of Naenae earlier this year. 16 students represented Tawhai at the event and all students did themselves proud. There was some strong competition from the other schools but our determination and team support was amazing.
The most exciting part of the event were the relays and what an effort. Despite having already swum several races, we took out the Yr 4-6 Boys Medley relay and the Yr 4 Freestyle relay, with the Yr 5 Freestyle relay team coming 2nd and the Yr 6 Freestyle relay team coming 3rd.
It is now just a waiting game to see how many students qualified for the Inter-zone event in 2 weeks time. This will come down to placings and overall times for each event.
Congratulations again to all students who took part. A big thank you also to the parents that were time keepers, to our parents and whanau that supported their children and to Renee and Kelly who managed the team, while I (Miss Page) took the photos. Thanks to Rosa for lending her camera!!
Students that have made it through to the next event, will be notified as soon as we have the results.
