On Thursday evening Tawhai School sent 2 Year 5/6 teams to the Mathswell competition in Wellington. This competition challenges students to a range of problem solving and multi choice questions. There were 50 teams competing from all over the Wellington region.
Our Tawhai students worked hard as a team to get through as many challenges as they could in the short time frame available. Even though we did not get a placing we learnt a lot about how to work as a team, how to try and solve tricky maths questions quickly and the importance of understanding a wide variety of math vocabulary! Super proud of these 12! Well done to Miles, Sam, Liam, Dana, Raphael, Phoenix, Kayden, Archie, Hunter, Lucy, Katelyn and Nadine.
