Kia ora e te whānau,
It is with some sadness that the Tawhai community had to say goodbye today to Josh who has worked as a cleaner at the Kura for several years! We thank him not only for his hard work but also for his generosity in giving his time to help with cultural activities and sometimes providing some very delicious food for morning teas.
This morning, he was presented with a basket of goodies by Mrs Poole at the staff morning tea. He was also warmly acknowledged in the early morning assembly. And the ever-generous Josh with help with his whānau baked up a storm so that each and every tamariki in the kura could sample the delights of panikeke (samoan doughnuts)
Some of our wonderful Tamariki performed an impromptu and very stirring haka for Josh as he was leaving!
Goodbye and all the best from the Tawhai Kura!
