Diabetes Action Month is Diabetes New Zealand’s annual campaign that encourages action, education, awareness, and advocacy for New Zealanders with all types of diabetes and their whānau, as well as those at risk of diabetes.
Tomorrow is November 14, a day when World Diabetes Day is commemorated.
The blue circle is the global symbol for diabetes awareness and the logo of World Diabetes Day. There are many ways you can help promote the global symbol of diabetes awareness, but one great way is to:
WEAR BLUE FOR DIABETES!
Our wonderful ambassadors, Heidi, Armani, and Liam have been around the classrooms this afternoon to talk to the tamariki and have asked them to find something blue to wear to school tomorrow.
It can be either one blue item, or several items of clothing, a blue dress-up, they can wear blue hair or a wig. They can even wear blue face paint (with parental permission!)
If you wish to donate a gold coin to support this very worthy cause, please put in a sealed envelope for your tamariki to give their Kaiako, but there is no expectation for you to do so given the short notice.
Thank you!
