This term the Kopara Hub have been learning all about fire safety, road safety. Yesterday Rooms 6 and 11 went down to Stokes Valley pool to learn about water safety. With the summer break and good weather coming up, it is so important for us to practise keeping safe in and around the water. Living in New Zealand we are so lucky to be surrounded by the amazing waters, seas, and lakes.
The Tamariki were divided into 4 groups, and rotated around different activities that included being tipped out of a boat, helping someone who could be in trouble in the water, using snorkels, and jumping in the water!
Thank you so much to the instructors who taught the tamariki some good skills for keeping safe. It was great to see how much their confidence grew in the 2-hour session that took place and how much they learnt! Lots of smiles and laughter especially when they were being tipped out of the inflatable boat!
