Kia ora e te whānau,
Our lovely Year 2 & 3 tamariki in the Kopara enjoyed their first assembly for Term 4 on a beautiful and sunny afternoon at the kura this afternoon!
Our very capable ākonga, Scarlet and Maisie from Ruma tekau mā rua were the joint co-presenters for this particular assembly and despite a few nerves did a brilliant job with their presentation.
Tumuaki Mrs Poole was able to pop in to present the Principal awards and managed to stay for a short while to hear the children sing haere mai & Purerehua. Mrs Lynley Poole did the honours with the Student awards.
This week Ruma tekau mā rua have been hearing all about the exploits of the resident kaiwhakaahua’s cat who is well known around the kura due to his bad habit of stealing items left around, namely school hats, shoes, socks, the toys from the neighbouring dog, even a cellphone! Mrs Lynley Poole showed the tamariki photos of the cat ( a Slinky Malinky look alike!) with some of his booty and they did some absolutely wonderful imaginative, and descriptive story writing. Henry & Taylor excitedly shared their writing with everyone at the assembly!
Mrs Finlayson awarded the assembly bear to Ruma mā tahi as the best class of the assembly.
Otis & Hunter were the lucky tamariki drawn out of the kete to receive a prize.
