Kia ora e te whānau,
Our wonderful detectives in Ruma tekau mā rua have been busy this last week collecting data!
They firstly visited the other Classes in the Kopara Hub with their clips boards and charts to find out what type of cupcakes the tamariki liked the best from a choice of 5 different types of cupcake; lemon, vanilla, red velvet, chocolate, and chocolate chip. They were exploring ‘test marketing’ which is a method that aims to explore consumer response to a product. They recorded the responses using tally marks and made bar graphs in their maths books.
The findings enabled them to purchase the right amount of ingredients to make the cupcakes and all the decorations!
Yesterday morning was a busy time for the tamariki spent decorating the cooked and cooled Cupcakes with the very valuable assistance of Tawhai whānau, Georgia, Sam, Rosalynn, and Patsy! They also made some beautiful posters.
After the work was completed, Room 12 turned into shopkeepers and invited Room’s 6, 7, and 11 over to their room to purchase the cupcakes they had chosen during the survey. The wonderful posters that the groups had made were taped to the tables showing the tamariki which ones were which!
Whilst they were eating their cup in cupcakes, Room 6 decided to do a review of their experience. Here is their feedback:
Room 6’s review of Room 12’s Cupcake Shoppe
Lemon Cupcakes:
It was the best cupcake we’ve ever had. We loved the little bursts of lemon. We love the mix of sour and sweet. It was divine, especially the creamy, delicious icing!
Red Velvet Cupcakes:
It was so delicious, and we loved how red it was. We loved how the creamy icing tasted so sweet. It tasted so delicious, and we loved the marshmallows and jellybeans on top. It was squishy and the topping was perfect! We liked the decorations on top. It tasted like raspberries and strawberries mixed together. So crumbly!
Chocolate Chip Cupcakes:
The chocolate chips inside the cupcakes were very chocolatey. When we took a bite of the cupcake, we could taste the sweet chocolate flavour. We really liked the lemony flavoured icing – it was a nice surprise. The toppings were delicious. The chocolate chips were yummy and gooey. It was the best cupcake in the world. Yummy!
Chocolate Cupcakes:
We loved how chocolatey it was. We loved how delicious it was. They tasted like heaven.
The service was so quick and friendly. The posters were beautiful, colourful, and decorative. The servers were very helpful when we were selecting our cupcakes. They had excellent knowledge of the different toppings and offered us all a serviette. 10/10 for customer service.
We loved that there was such a huge selection of toppings and flavours – what a lovely way to break up such a busy day!
We would definitely recommend!
Ka pai to Room 12 & Mrs Simons for all the hard mahi. The cupcakes were awesome! A HUGE thank you to Georgia, Sam, Rosalynn, and Patsy for all your help.
