Kia ora e te whānau,
What a splendid turnout of Tawhai whānau who came to the Kura Open Afternoon yesterday!
Each class had some wonderful examples of the term’s enquiry to show their families. The older ākonga had very informative and thought-provoking displays and it could be seen how much mahi has been put by the tamariki during the past few weeks!
Our Kopara Hub had made some fantastic kites and the tamariki were proudly flying them for their whānau! During the middle block they got to test them out and they flew so well!
There was a beautiful whare in Room 10 which the parents were very taken with too!
The Kapa Haka group performed several waiata for everyone under the whakaruruhau and rounded off with a very stirring haka!
Many thanks to Janette Page & Dave Whiteman for all the hard mahi they have put in with the group during the term. The group have done themselves, their whānau, and their kura proud!
Earlier in the day, the ākonga were treated to a much-deserved Mr Whippy or ice block. The treats continued with a delicious sausage sizzle!
A BIG thank you to the amazing Tu Rangatira, Miles, Callen, Liam, Caden, and Ben for organising the classes so well as they came out for their ice creams and popping the extra sprinkles on! It went so smoothly! A Massive thank you to Deb Barnden for organising this lovely and much anticipated treat!
A HUGE thank you to our wonderful Parent helpers, Richard, Corbin, Anthony Nikel, Kelly Newton-Davies, Petra Van Beek, and Kylie Pearce, who either cooked up a storm on the BBQ or served our hungry tamariki, along with Tu Rangatira, Lucy, Aysha, and Reed.
Thank you to Dave Whiteman for organising this!
Lastly Thank you to our wonderful Tawhai Whānau who came along to the Open Afternoon!
