I can’t believe we are heading into the second half of the term already. Production rehearsals are going well and everyone is working hard. I continue to be impressed with the enthusiasm and motivation of not just the cast, but the whole of Ngahere and those Yr 3s that have come to join us too. We have been practising the songs and learning the different dances that go along with them.
Please keep up the great support with helping the cast learn their last few lines. This week we are concentrating hard on learning our stage movements and using props and microphones. This means their lines need to be well memorised, so they can focus on the acting and where they need to be. Most students have done an excellent job of putting their lines to memory!
Just to clarify once again, the WHOLE of Ngahere hub is involved with the production, along with a few of the Yr 3s, who have shown interest in being part of the show.
We have our actors and dance troupe who will perform on the stage. The rest of Ngāhere hub will make up our chorus and will sing and dance on the floor in front of the stage.
It is an expectation that all students will attend the shows in week 10.
This production forms part of our Performing Arts learning within the NZ curriculum as well as linking to the Key Competencies – Participating and Contributing, Managing Self and Relating to Others.
