Mihi Whakatau

2nd August 2024

Kia ora e te whānau,

The whole kura assembled under the whakaruruhau to welcome the Manuhiri (visitors) on a very cold and crisp day for the third Mihi Whakatau of the year!

Mr Whiteman did a waikōrero on behalf of the Tāngata Whenua (hosts) followed by Mr McGarry who did a whaikōrero on behalf of the Manuhiri and he and the Manuhiri then sang Te Aroha.

Temuaka Mrs Poole after giving her mihi, warmly welcomed our newest whānau to Tawhai.

Lastly the Manuhiri harirū (bumped elbows) with the Tāngata Whenua.

Afterwards the Manuhuri gathered in the staffroom to enjoy some kai and fellowship.

Photos posted are with very kind permission from whānau.
