Kia ora e te whānau,
On Wednesday it was the turn of our Year 3 & 4 Kereru Hub to take part in the Tawhai Cup Football Tournament.
It followed pretty much the same format as the Year 5 & 6 Tournament that took place the day before, with the usual 4 trophies up for grabs!
The teams played several round robin games in the first block followed by knockout games after morning tea. Then it was down to the grand final between England and Japan on the turf before lunch with England taking out the title 3-0!
Well done to all who took part in the tournament.
A BIG Thank you to the Rangatira; Aysha, Charlotte, Kora, Taylor, Miles, Joel, Hunter, and Ben who did a great job assisting our kaiako, reffing the games, retrieving the ball, and generally keeping the game flowing.
A HUGE thank you to the Kaiako, Mr McGarry, Miss Kenworthy, Matua Jake, plus Matua Jake’s Father, Guy, who coordinated the games.
Lastly again, a MASSIVE thanks to Mr McGarry for organising this wonderful tournament.
