Kia ora e te whānau,
There were certainly huge waves of blue around the kura today as we acknowledged World Diabetes Day today! Some wore an item of clothing, some wore their Tawhai hoodies, (and bucket hats) we had a large smattering of tutus here and there, some painted their faces, and there were the odd 2 or 3 that went with some blue in their hair. Our ambassadors, Heidi, Liam, and Armani went around the classrooms handing out spot prizes of lollipops.Thank you to all those who brought in a gold coin donation. The total amount collected was $190. The money will be going directly to diabetes NZ to support kids with type 1 diabetes to attend Diabetes NZ Youth Camps.
