Kia ora o te whānau,
It was a sight to behold today as the tamariki turned out in full ‘pink’ for Pink Shirt Day! It didn’t matter either for those who decided not to wear pink as they thoroughly enjoyed the day too! The resident whaakahua could feel the full force of kindness everywhere she went around the kura!
There was a mini parade just before morning tea, under the whareruruhau for those that wanted to go around.
Our wonderful ICT & Values Tu Rangatira and their support team had devised a kahoots mulitchoice quiz about bullying and kindness which they took to each of the classrooms to play with. They also played a Simon Says game too with some of the younger ākonga.
We celebrated 3 assemblies in the middle block! A lot of the certificates had been given to tamariki showing acts of kindness.
(the assemblies will be posted separately!)
The Pumpkin Patch were very fortunate to be given beautifully crafted beanies knitted by a group of ladies who meet at the Hub every week. Another act of kindness. (A seperate posting will follow shortly)
Ruma Rima did a wee lego Project in groups about Pink Shirt Day and came up with some great models!
Thank you to our wonderful Tawhai whānau for supporting this day!
Thank you to the Kaiako and Tu Rangatira for making this a very enjoyable day despite the weather!
