Kia ora o te whānau,
On most fine mornings, our gorgeous tamariki in the Pumpkin Patch can be seen going for their invigorating nature walks! Occasionally the Room 6 tamariki will come too!
They start off with a bracing run around the track, then it’s off on the walk they go! They navigate some of the narrow paths in single file, following the leader, they climb over the equipment in the big kids playground before having a rest under the magnificent Macrocarpa Tree.
Whilst they are there, some like to explore their surroundings, some of the tamariki will have a chat, some just look around, others like to think of themselves as paleontologists digging for dinosaur bones! If they are lucky they might hear the birds singing up above them!
If the grass is dry they will follow the path past the rest of our fruit trees, before practicing their balancing walking on the edge of one of the wee gardens of native grasses.
Lastly it’s a quick game of hopscotch before they go back into the classroom thoroughly refreshed!
Below are a ‘few’ photos taken during several nature walks.
