This week Room 8 were finally able to take home their beautifully painted rocks! At the beginning of the term we watched a video about people hiding and searching for rocks around Lakeland, Florida. A few of us had been painted rock hunting around Wellington in the holidays and we thought we would like to have a go painting some of our own.
We had lots of examples to look at and we all chose to paint something different. Check out our creations below. We painted ladybirds, fire monsters, minions, lots of different patterns, and ninja turtles – just to name a few! Our rocks were spray painted with a clear varnish to protect them before we added the final touches – googly eyes, little pieces of mirror and coloured stars.
We are pretty excited and proud about how they all turned out!
