What a wonderful way for our gorgeous Year 6 Students to conclude their Tawhai School journey than to enjoy an evening with their friends & teachers, tucking into dinner and pudding, while watching photos of their endeavours and achievements as senior students and enjoying a run around together outside in the beautiful evening afterwards! Our meal started after a blessing from Danaka Cains and what a feast it was, thanks to the parents for providing it.
Our M.C’s for the evening were Ysabelle Balao & Anaru Wallace who not only did a wonderful job of coordinating the items, but kept us entertained too. We were delighted by the beautiful singing of the Leonard Cohen song, Hallelujah by Chante, Tufaina, Kitana and Marie.
We had speeches from our Board Chairperson, Stuart Berkeley and Principal, Karen Poole. Our guest speaker was past Tawhai Student, Neve Te One who has achieved so much since leaving Tawhai School, especially in the sporting arena of Water Polo and Netball.
During the awards ceremony it was wonderful to see the cheers that each student received from their peers as they stepped up to receive their awards. Congratulations to the recipients! A very warm congratulations to all our Year 6 students for graduating!
At the conclusion of the ceremony we were treated to some great dancing and singing from our talented Year 6 student with a wonderful heartfelt Haka at the end.
