The Last Assembly of the Year

[loop-news.php]

December 15 2017

Yesterday the Nga Manu team held their last assembly of the year which was also the last assembly at Tawhai School for our Year 6 students who will be moving onto new schools next year.
Alec & Peace were our co-presenters for this assembly and did a great job coordinating the many items. Mrs Poole firstly presented the Leadership Award to Georgia Lomax who unfortunately could not attend the Year 6 Leavers Dinner on Tuesday. Congratulations Georgia!
Ethan, Hunter and Dylan from Nga Kukari were the deserving recipients of Mathletics medals. Well done boys for all your efforts and hard work.
Then it was onto the Year 4 & 5 Trophies & Certificates awards. Congratulations to all those who were given awards. Please click on the link below to view the list of awards and recipients.
Unfortunately Ross McKinnon could not be present to hand out the Enviroschool awards, So Mrs Poole presented them on his behalf to Adam Harris who won the Top Enviro Student award and Molly Van Diggle who won the All round Gardener award. Congratulations to you both.
The Year 6 students were all then presented with their graduation certificates and a piece of greenstone each. What a wonderful keepsake to remind them of their time at Tawhai School!
To the delight of the audience they danced and sang to the Imagine Dragon’s song, it’s time, then performed a haka which brought a few tears to some eyes.
Lastly to round off a fantastic action packed assembly, Marie, Tufaina, Kitana & Chante sang the Leonard Cohen song, Hallelujah.
Congratulations to all who won awards.
